If you think that MS Accounting is expensive for just asset management I can't even imagine how expensive a mainframe was for accounting software that lacks this feature! MS Account Express is completely free, however.
I don't know if that feature is in there but I suspect that it is. The Mainframe system isn't just an accounting system. It looks like the Express version doesn't have the Inventory portion and requires an upgrade to Pro. Ah, I thought maybe that that was one of the missing features that made it free.
We've been on the Pro version since it first released as Small Business Accounting several years ago. We like it. I've used Excel spreadsheets tied into a Visio Document.
