Last month, the company started testing official U. TV tuner support on the Xbox One, letting users watch live channels through the console with an integrated programming guide and optional Kinect voice controls.
The next obvious step should be DVR support, which is rumored to be coming later this year. If Microsoft can add the same whole-home streaming capabilities for DVR as it does for live broadcasts, the Xbox will finally do what Windows Media Center never could. After all, the Xbox One will soon run on Windows 10, with a universal apps platform that extends across phones, tablets, PCs, and televisions. With the right modern apps and screen scaling , users could have an Xbox-like experience without giving up their living-room PCs.

I can confirm that the WMC 8. Kodi is a fantastic product but none of the alternatives do the tv functionality including configuration in such an integrated way. For Kodi you need to install a back end tv server. Media Portal is probably one of the best alternatives for tv functionality. I have recently upgraded from Win 7 to Win Follow the following step by step procedure to enable your Xbox controller to work within Windows and Windows Media Center :. If you have other media equipment in the same room as your Media Center PC and if you find its remote interfering with Media Center then you select either 1 or 8 as your Remote Control ID depending on which remote control you really want to enable. After the restart, you should be able to use your Xbox remote with Windows Media Center.
However there is still one problem. Fortunately there is a way to get them work too. You will need to download Intelliremote from Melloware.
