Windows xp firewall exception port range

Select TCP as the protocol. You should see your new firewall rule here. At this time you can edit it, delete it, or add another rule using the same procedure as outlined above. You can have as many rules as you have applications that need one. I play a video game on my computer that requires the use of multiple ports to be opened at one time, yet cannot find any information on how to do so while using Windows Firewall.

I can open ports one at a time, but it would take a week to put down this range. This thread is locked. You can follow the question or vote as helpful, but you cannot reply to this thread. I have the same question Remove From My Forums. Asked by:. Archived Forums. SQL Server Security. Sign in to vote. Friday, December 21, AM. Monday, December 24, AM. Now you post a reply telling me to post there, and then mark your reply as the answer, which in no way actually addresses the issue at hand.

Would it be too much to ask to actually get the problem solved instead of passing the buck? So, neither forum is the correct place to post, and the mods will pass the buck and mark the thread as "answered". I never used to be someone who used flames, but the incompetance of the "support engineers" at the Microsoft Answers forum just drives me nuts.

They like to put links to KB articles that don't address that actual problem, but something similar yet unrelated or maybe vaguely related, but doesn't address the issue at hand , then mark it as the "answer" even though the link in question doesn't solve the OP's problem. Forgot, sorry, this link may be useful too since it explains how to use a simple script to open up a port range in XP firewall without having to manually create each port rule using the GUI; just ensure to modify the script to match the same port range you configured in IIS for passive FTP.

Agreed; although, given that often IIS is executed on server class systems, the topic isn't totally "off" in my opinion. I wouldn't exactly call that "solved". More like accepting that something is wrong that I can't seem to fix even though I followed the instructions I've found to the letter. And if so, why? That said, you appended your question to an old discussion, it would have been a better idea opening a new discussion and adding to your message a link to this one just to keep things in context ; this way the discussion would appear "fresh" and may get more feedback from others.

I also check all the security points but Still, I can't access anymore the network. Someone suggest me to contact Linksys router support experts. But when I get any support here or others so why I am going with experts. Can you please share any information if you understand what I am said to you. Uh, using static addresses
